Kuwait Airways has revealed that it will be reducing its presence in India for the IATA Winter 09-10 season in the following manner:
DEL - frequencies reduced from daily to 4 weekly AB6s.
COK - frequencies reduced from 5 to 3 weekly AB6s.

It will be interesting to see if Air India Express fills in this gap left by KU by adding new flights with B 738s on both these sectors.
KLM has officially announced that it will be reducing its flights to YYC-Calgary for the upcoming IATA Winter 09-10 season from 5 to 4 weekly flights. All services will continue to be flown using an Airbus A 330-200. KL launched this route in May 2009.
The states of Nepal and Qatar have managed to sign a new air bilateral accord which will allow Qatar Airways to increase its flights to Kathmandu, Nepal from the current 11 times per week to 4 daily flights effective 2010. In addition, rights have been secured for Qatar Airways Cargo to fly daily all freighter flights. This will now allow QR to connect KTM conveniently in both directions via DOH to its USA bound flights.

Emirates has officially revealed that it is seriously contemplating reinstating daily Airbus A 380 service into New York JFK by summer 2010 as it projects demand and yield to rise from that period onwards. Its CEO also confirmed that it will now "go slow" on any further USA expansion which will not see any newly added flights in 2010 but maybe in 2011-12.
Air Canada has officially announced that it will be launching new nonstop flights from Canada to Barcelona and Athens from June 12th 2010 on a summer seasonal basis only. The way in which these flights will be flown are as follows:
BCN - 3 weekly flights each flown from YYZ and YUL respectively using B 763ERs.
ATH - 3 weekly flights each flown from YYZ and YUL respectively using B 763ERs.
Turkish Airlines has officially confirmed that from the on set of the IATA Winter 09-10 season, it will be increasing its flights to Athens, Greece from the current 18 weekly to triple daily In addition, it has also revealed that it shall be increasing its BGW-Baghdad flights from the current 5 weekly to daily nonstop using a Boeing 737-800.
Olympic Airways of Greece has officially confirmed that it will be suspending all of its long haul flights effective Oct 1st 2009 thus resulting in the termination of its Toronto, Montreal, New York JFK and Johannesburg flights that were operated with a dedicated fleet of 4 Airbus A 340-300s. The carrier will instead focus on its domestic and intra-EU network.
Delta Airlines has further revealed major capacity and frequency adjustments across its long haul international route network for the upcoming IATA Winter 09-10 season. The main highlights are as follows:
ATL / FRA - capacity reduced from daily B 764ER to daily A 332.
ATL / MAD - frequencies reduced from daily B 764ER to 4 weekly B 764ERs.
ATL / MXP - frequencies reduced from daily B 763ER to 4 weekly B 763ERs.
ATL / BCN - frequencies reduced from daily B 764ERs to 4 weekly B 763ERs.
ATL / FCO - capacity adjusted from daily A 333 to daily B 764ER.
ATL / AMS - capacity reduced from daily A 333 to daily B 763ER.
ATL / CPH - frequencies reduced from daily B 764ER to 4 weekly B 763ERs.
ATL / DUB - frequencies reduced from daily B 764ER to 6 weekly B 763ERs.
ATL / DUS - frequencies reduced from daily B 764ERs to 5 weekly B 763ERs.
Oman Air has officially announced major expansion in its Winter 09-10 schedule for its Middle East and Asia network as it continues to build itself along the lines of EK/QR/EY. The main highlights are as follows:
CMB - frequencies increased from 4 weekly to daily.
JED - frequencies increased from daily to 10 weekly flights.
AMM - frequencies increased from 4 to 8 weekly flights.
AUH - frequencies increased from double to triple daily flights.
BAH - frequencies increased from 18 weekly to triple daily.
DOH - frequencies increased from 18 weekly to triple daily.
DXB - frequencies increased from 5 to 6 daily.
Lufthansa has officially confirmed that it will be adjusting capacity out of its Munich hub for some of its long haul routes for the Summer 2010 IATA season. They are as follows:
MUC / SIN - capacity reduced from daily A 346 to daily A 343.
MUC / PEK - capacity reduced from daily A 346 to daily A 343.
MUC / BOS - capacity increased from daily A 343 to daily A 346.
South African Airways has officially announced that it will be increasing its flights to Lagos and Accra from the on set of the IATA Winter timetable. Currently, LOS is flown 6 times per week where as ACC is flown 4 times per week via LOS. However, from Oct 26th 09, both cities will be seeing daily flights using a Boeing 747-400 routed as JNB-LOS-ACC-LOS-JNB.
Qatar Airways has officially revealed on the GDS few capacity changes for its long haul route network for the IATA Winter season. The main highlights are as follows:
MEL/DOH/DXB - will be a daily same plane service from MEL only and not vice versa using a B 772LR.
BKK - capacity reduced from double daily B 773ERs to daily A 333 + daily B 773ER.
MNL - capacity reduced from a daily B 773ER to a daily A 333.
HKG - capacity reduced from daily A 346 to daily A 332.
Turkish Airlines has officially announced that it will be reducing capacity to Mumbai, India for part of the IATA Winter 09-10 season in the following manner:
a) Scheduled daily A 332 service will be reduced to a daily B 738 from Oct 26 till Dec 15th.
b) Dec 15th 09 onwards, the flight will revert back to a daily A 332 operation. TK has also revealed that it will be increasing capacity on its flagship IST-JFK route from Oct 1st onwards by replacing its daily A 343 service with the larger Boeing 777-300ER.
Chicago too sees an increase in capacity from a daily A 332 to once a week B 773ER + 6 weekly A 332.
Air Canada has officially revealed that it will be reducing capacity on its flagship trans-atlantic route i.e. Toronto-London Heathrow for the IATA Winter season in the following manner:
AC 868 - maintains daily B 763ER service.
AC 856 - capacity reduced from daily B 773ER to daily A 333.
AC 848 - capacity reduced from daily B 773ER to daily B 763ER.
AC 858 - capacity reduced from daily A 333 to daily B 763ER.
Total capacity reduction is 23% versus Summer 09.
British Airways has revealed on the GDS that it will be increasing its flights to LAD-Luanda, Angola from October 2009 with an additional 2nd weekly nonstop operated flight being flown using a Boeing 777-200ER. Apart from this, BA too confirmed that for the IATA Winter 09-10 season, it will be reducing flights to CPT-Cape Town, South Africa from the scheduled double daily to 13 weekly nonstop flights i.e. daily B 744 + 6 weekly B 772ER.
Gulf Air has officially revealed that it will be increasing its flights to DAC-Dhaka, Bangladesh effective Aug 20th 09 from the current 10 times a week to 12. A mixture of A 343s and A 332s will be used on the BAH-DAC-BAH route. GF too disclosed that it will not be resuming flights to HYD this winter but operations to BLR will be reinstated with a daily A 320 nonstop frequency.
Thai Airways has officially disclosed that it will be reducing its flights to Dubai and Kuwait for the IATA Winter 09-10 season in the following manner:
DXB - frequencies reduced from 11 to daily nonstop flights i.e. MAA-DXB sector suspended. All DXB-BKK-DXB TG operated flights will be flown using an A 333 only.
KWI - frequencies reduced from 5 weekly A 346s to 3 weekly nonstop flights using an A 333.
KLM has officially revealed that it will be reducing frequencies to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania from the on set of the IATA Winter 09-10 timetable. Currently, flights are operated on a daily basis using a Boeing 777-200ER however, these will be reduced to a 5 weekly operation due to seasonal adjustment in demand scales.
V Australia has officially announced that it will be launching 3 new long haul routes from this winter onwards. They are as follows:
MEL/JNB - new twice weekly nonstop flights using a B 773ER will be launched effective March 13th 2010.
MEL/HKT (Phuket) - once a week nonstop flight using a B 773ER will be launched effective Dec 3rd 2009.
BNE/HKT - twice weekly nonstop flights to be launched using a B 773ER effective Nov 22nd 2009.
Iberia of Spain has officially announced that it will be suspending its Madrid-Washington DC flight from the on set of the IATA Winter 09-10 table due to falling demand and yield on this trans-atlantic route.
