PIA



PIA
will be increasing capacity to Dubai from Northern Pakistan effective immediately which will last for the whole of 2009. The main highlights are as follows:

ISB / DXB
- 2 weekly A 310s + 3 weekly B 773ERs + 2 weekly B 772ERs.

LHE / DXB
- 2 weekly A 310s + 5 weekly B 772ERs.

PEW / DXB
- 2 weekly A 310s + 5 weekly B 772ERs.

PIA's Chairman too announced that the airline is seriously looking into launching new flights to Barcelona, Spain to be flown twice a week from Islamabad via Dubai using a B 772ER effective April 2009. PK will have 5th freedom traffic rights on the DXB-BCN-DXB sector.

Comments:

With the upgraded in flight product especially in business on the Northern Pakistan-DXB high yielding route, PIA should get more premium business especially considering the fact that their J class on the B 777s is better than EK's regional J class product on board the A 332s and B 777s that they use to PAK.

Emirates



Emirates has once again made further capacity and frequency changes across its network for Winter 09-10. The main highlights are as follows:

ICN - capacity increased from daily B 773ER to daily A 380 effective Jan 1st 2010.

KUL - frequencies increased from 12 to 18 weekly flights all using a B 773ER.

AMM - frequencies increased from double daily to 17 weekly flights effective Dec 3rd 09.

JKT - frequencies increased from daily to 12 weekly flights all using a B 773ER.

CMB/SIN - frequencies increased from 4 weekly to daily flights using a B 773.

DUS - capacity increased from double daily A 332s to daily B 773ER + daily A 332 effective Jan 1st 2010.

NCE - frequencies increased from 5 weekly to daily nonstop terminator flights using an A 332 effective Jan 4th 2010.

SIN - frequencies increased from 22 to 25 weekly flights.

DMM - frequencies increased from 3 to 5 times weekly i.e. weekly B 772 + 4 weekly A 332s.

Turkish Airlines



Turkish Airlines has announced few capacity and frequency enhancements to its international route network which will come into effect from the on set of the IATA Summer 2009 timetable. The main highlights are as follows:

MHD - new 3 weekly nonstop flights to be launched using a B 738 effective March 15th.

BOM - frequencies increased from 4 weekly to daily flights using an A 332.

DEL - frequencies increased from 4 weekly to daily flights using an A 332.

JFK - all nonstop flights to be operated using A 332s only.

ORD - all nonstop flights to be operated using A 332s only.

Singapore Airlines



Singapore Airlines has officially released information as to where its newly delivered fleet of Airbus A 330-300s will be deployed to in 2009. They are as follows:

BNE - all 17 weekly flights will see A 333s replacing B 772As from end March.

NGO - daily A 333s replacing B 772As effective June.

ADL - daily A 333s replacing B 772As effective June.

PER - 16 weekly flights effective May.

In 2009, SQ is expected to take delivery for up to 9 A 333s.

Air China


Air China has released details of few changes to its long haul network for the upcoming IATA Summer 09 timetable. They are as follows:

PEK/MUC - frequencies increased from 3 to 4 weekly flights using an A 332.

PEK/SFO - frequencies increased from 5 weekly to daily flights using a B 744 Combi.

EK/ARN - capacity increased from 3 weekly B 763ERs to 3 weekly A 332s.

PEK/FCO - frequencies increased from 6 weekly to daily flights using an A 332.

PEK/DME - frequencies increased from daily to 10 weekly flights i.e. daily B 772ER + 3 weekly B 763ER.

PEK/KHI - capacity increased from 3 weekly A 319s to 3 weekly B 752s.

PEK/DEL - frequencies reduced from 4 to 3 weekly flights using a B 762ER.

PEK/KUL - frequencies reduced from daily to 5 weekly B 752s.

Czech Airlines


Czech Airlines has announced many changes to its network which will be in place from the on set of the IATA Summer 09 timetable. The main highlights are as follows:

BEY
- frequencies increased from 6 weekly to daily flights.

ALA
- frequencies increased from 2 to 3 weekly flights.

CAI
- frequencies increased from 4 to 5 weekly flights.

DAM
- frequencies increased from 4 to 5 weekly flights.

HAM
- frequencies increased to triple daily.

DUB
- all flights suspended.

MXP - frequencies increased to double daily.

Egypt Air


Egypt Air has officially released details of its Summer 2009 schedule which sees many adjustments being made across its entire network. The main highlights are as follows:

CDG
- frequencies increased from daily to 10 weekly flights.

ADD
- frequencies increased from 4 to 5 weekly flights.

ALG
- frequencies increased from 5 weekly to daily flights.

BRU
- frequencies increased from 3 to 4 weekly flights.

BCN
- frequencies increased from 4 to 5 weekly flights.

CMN
- frequencies increased from 5 weekly to daily flights.

IST
- frequencies increased from 9 weekly to double daily.

TIP
- frequencies increased from 10 weekly to double daily.

FRA
- frequencies increased from daily to 9 weekly flights.

Korean Air


Korean Air will be increasing capacity to IAD-Washington DC Dulles Airport for the upcoming Summer 2009 season. Currently, it flies a daily B 772ER nonstop on the IAD-ICN route but from April, it will be using a B 744 four times a week + a B 772ER three times a week.
