British Airways makes Vancouver daily A380


British Airways has officially announced that YVR-Vancouver will become the carrier's newest Airbus A380 destination effective 01MAY16.

BA will use the A380 on a daily basis nonstop along side 5 weekly B772ERs as during the summer season as a result of peak demand on this route, it operates 12 times per week versus daily in the winter season.

PIA to dry lease 3 additional B777s

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has confirmed via an officially released tender result document that it has accepted a bid to dry lease 3 additional Boeing 777-200ERs from Aer Cap leasing for an unspecified period of time. 

These 3 B772ERs are ex Vietnam Airlines aircraft and seat 325 pax in a dual class layout i.e. 35J + 290Y. They will be used to replace their aging B747-300 fleet which is being retired after the completion of Hajj 2015 season.

Emirates announces major A380 increases

Emirates has unveiled a major expansion of its A380 operated services from this winter season onwards. The main highlights are as follows:

LON - LHR + LGW all become an exclusive A380 operation i.e. 8 daily

BKK - capacity increased to 4 daily A380s + 2 daily B77Ws

KUL - daily two class A380 (615 seater) along side triple daily B77Ws

Emirates makes Lisbon double daily

Emirates has officially announced that due to strong demand for its Lisbon bound flights over the past three years, it shall be boosting its presence on this route by adding a second daily frequency effective 01JAN16.

Both daily flights will be operated using the Boeing 777-300ER with the second daily flight schedule being as follows:

EK 193 Dep DXB 1440 Arr LIS 1920
EK 194 Dep LIS 2100 Arr DXB 0845+1

Air Canada increases Delhi

Air Canada has officially announced that it will be increasing its services to Delhi, India from Toronto effective October 2016 due to forecasted increased demand on this popular sector.

It will be launching flights this Oct with 4 weekly nonstop flights using a B787. These will be increased to a daily nonstop service using a B789 from next October onwards.

EVA Air increases Houston


Eva Air has revealed due to strong bookings for its recently launched Houston service, it will be increasing its presence on the route effective 04FEB16.

Currently, BR operates 4 weekly nonstop flights from TPE to IAH using a B777-300ER. These shall be increased to 6 weekly from FEB using the same aircraft type. Services are code shared with fellow Star Alliance member i.e. UNITED who provides key beyond feed from its mega IAH hub.

China Eastern announces Colombo

China Eastern Airlines based out of Shanghai has officially announced that it shall be launching a new long haul route i.e. Colombo, Sri Lanka effective 22SEP15.

MU will be operating 4 weekly nonstop flights from its PVG base to CMB using an A332 using the below mentioned schedule:
